This program is designed for facilitators, learning designers and developers who are looking to develop a blended learning program which is of a high quality, relevant to the learner and incorporate good instructional design practices. The course takes participants through the process of developing a blended learning solution, from design through to development of the final product.
The program is a blended mode, delivered completely online through webinars and self-paced online content. The program is very hands on with participants required to design a blended learning program.
The program is structured into 4 distinct levels:
- Learning Theories and Instructional Design
Knowledge and experience in learning theories and instructional design is necessary to design a blended learning program. This topic will look at a range of the common learning theories and instructional design models.
- Scoping the Blended Program
Utilising the LXD Model to guide the design process, the first stage is scoping the requirements of the blended program. The learning objects in this topic will look at the different areas of the scoping.
- Choosing the right blend
Choosing the right blend at the right time, in the right quantity is a challenge. This topic looks at the different ways content can be delivered and the options for blending them together into a program.
- Building the blended learning campaign
Once the requirements of the program have been scoped and blend elements decided, you can then start to design the structure of the blended learning campaign. This topic will look at how we will structure the blend into events that will happen over a spaced period.
Participants in this course will gain an in-depth understanding of how to design and develop a quality blended learning experience.
The course will allow them to apply the skills and knowledge to the development of a blended training resource specific to their business or work context.
Participants will design and develop at least one resource as part of the course.
